With our "Going Green" Issue, each story that we create consists of an element of "sustainability". Photographer Lesley Williams and I did a shoot using sustainable pieces called vintage. This shoot was used to promote the "Green Initiative" while going back into time. Each section of this piece tells a different "Vintage Story". The shoot was fun! We played nothing but 60's music to get into the mood. I loved it! I've been told I have an old soul...
Each and every one of us has a story of the past, one that our grandmothers and mothers have told us. Maybe something you experienced in your childhood. We would love to hear your vintage story! You may send in old pictures or do a shoot yourself and tell us about it!

Sew Organic
Which 60's song was playing? Downtown by Petula Clark, If You're Going to San Fransisco by Scott McKenzie
The story of the girl making an apron, reminds me of my own childhood of watching my mother sew. She used to go to the basement in her own sewing room and make clothes for my older sister and me. She made our first day of school outfits, Easter dresses, Christmas dresses... a dress for every occasion. Today's woman is definitely not like the woman of yesteryear. Just way too busy. But these memories are well preserved into my mind. It was just so organic!
LOL... This face looks very familiar to me.
Vintage shoes
Must wear fabulous shoes while creating!
Classy Clip-ons
These classy clip-ons changed the scope of the dress.
"How to Wear" Vintage
I love the smell of vintage books. It's so refreshing when you flip through the yellow, tattered pages. You feel the history. This book had some valuable information!
Dear Johnny
What song was playing? What Becomes of the Brokenhearted, Will You Love Me Tomorrow (The Shirelles)
The letter is a Dear Johnny letter. My boyfriend is in the Vietnam War.
One day when my sister and I were cleaning out the garage, we came across some letters my mother and father had written back and forth when my father was in Vietnam. They were so cute and romantic. He would say Dear Debbie.... [Fill in the blank] I miss you... With Love, Allen. Ahhh...
Yoga and Vintage hand in hand?
What song was playing? Uma Jai Ma by Sophia, Spirit of Harp by Kitaro
Yoga is a vintage practice.
