Happy new Year! A new decade, a new era.

We can take the time to reflect on what we did in 2009 and what we could improve on with this new decade. I can't believe that it is 2010 already! It seems just like yesterday, it was 2000 with all the scare with Y2K. Now 10 years later we are looking for something new. Within the past nine years, we have been through many ups and downs. The end of a decade or the beginning, depending on who you ask, but for us, it's a new year. For ZEPHORAHmagazine, it's a brand new decade for us, brand new fashion stories and brand new creative minds!

One area that ZEPHORAHmagazine focuses on, is interviewing businesspeople in the world of fashion. I love interviewing business people because, each person that I have interviewed so far has had a positive impact on me as a writer. They each bring a different outlook on life and business. It's also exciting to see the different personalities unwind as they tell you about their start in their industries.

I want to introduce to you a business woman who has had an positive impact on a lot of women and men. Meet our guest, Lu Sierra! Top model and empowerment coach. You have seen her on the runways of top French designers, movies, etc. Her career just keeps evolving and she'll never slow down! Every Tuesday, we'll have a Ask Lu column. Readers like you will be able to send in your questions about the modeling industry and/or career questions and she'll be happy to answer.

Step into the artistic mind of Kamau Ware. See his exhibit, Photosynthesis and watch his thought process unfold before your eyes. This is the first photographer that I interviewed for the magazine. You will be fascinated by his work just by studying the photos and understanding his thought process. I really enjoyed speaking with Kamau... He truly is a character!
