Photography: A Tribute to Barrington Chambers

One of my favorite commercial, beauty, and parts shots by BC.

I am dedicating a story to Barrington Chambers. A respected photographer and friend of mine who passed away.

When I was in the beginning stages of revamping my book, Barrington Chambers gave me some of the best advice a photographer could give. When I met BC, I was still relatively new to modeling and was still finding my path in the industry. When I decided that commercial and parts modeling was best for me, BC guided me into being a great model. I'm still laughing at how he would scold me for not holding a flower or a purse in a dainty way. I was thankful for receiving invaluable advice as a model, especially when I was on the search for the right agency and what was expected of me.

Although he gave me great advice for modeling, he's also taught me an even more important lesson in life. I learned that the only way to really enjoy life is to do what you want. He led by example by telling me his stories of him traveling as a photographer to Spain and all over Europe as a young photographer. He inspired me to "get up and go." His stance on life was have a great time and do what you want because you only live once.

BC and I worked closely together for the magazine as well. He shot the beauty story, "Hear No Beauty" with models, Shelly and me.

Here are some words from a couple of his closest friends.

I knew BC for more than 28yrs.
Losing someone I knew that long, is like losing a part of my body.
It hurts a lot.
I still have memories of him smiling at me with those big friendly eyes.
We will miss his smile.
