The John Ashford Collection: Ruler of the Shoe Underworld

John Ashford is a visual artist with many talents and a focused unpredictable view that is interpreted through his signature style. This Washington D.C. native is known as a painter and an art teacher, teaching classes throughout NYC. The name John Ashford, however, is most often associated with shoes; Beautiful shoes that are individually hand-painted. Each shoe is inspired by ancient history and the many places he’s traveled; Egypt, France, and Tokyo, to name a few. Mr. Ashford’s shoes stand out in so many ways from other shoe designers, because of the uniqueness they carry. Each woman has her own pair, designed just for her and her only. She will never find another woman with her shoes. His shoes are so unique, that for every pair, the right and the left shoe is designed differently. He never follows trends, so whatever he creates, women tend to fall in love. And for those ladies out there with slightly larger feet, don’t worry, he’ll take care of you too! John Ashford’s next venture is his coffee table book, Primary Colors: The Art of the Shoe, to be released this year and distributed at Barnes & Nobles and Borders.
